31DC2014: Day 28-Inspired by “a flag”

Hello my dears,

The finish line is so close, I cannot wait for this to be over. I have really enjoyed it but wow its a push creatively.

chalkboard-nails-31-day-challenge-2014-just-peachyToday is day 28 & I had to be inspired by a flag… Well its a bit of a random prompt but I did it.

I was originally going to do a Game of Thrones flag but upon googling it I realised that would require more skill then I had on hand. So my boyfriend suggested Harry Potter instead. He said I should do the house flags pfft… like I would waste my time on the other houses. Im team gryffindor all the way!

GryffindorcrestI know this is their crest, but the flag sort of looks the same. So I used this as my inspiration for my flag inspired nails.

20140928_200030The colour selection is very basic, I used:

  • Essence Colour & Go “Little Miss Sunshine”
  • L.A. Colors Art Deco Liner in “Red”

20140928_200015So there you have it, Gryffindor flag nails 😀

They were easy to create thanks to the red liner. I painted the base colour yellow and then used the liner to draw and fill in the checks.

Which team are you?

31DC2014: Day 25-Inspired by “fashion”

Good Morning my dears,

The second I saw my inspiration image I knew I was going to use it for today’s prompt.

I am no Fashionista, but I can appreciate a stunning design. What is better than a rainbow coloured dress? Not much!

This dress is from Chanel SS14 Collection.

I used a lot of polishes.

  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”
  • Tip Top “Sherbet Angel”
  • L.A. Colors Art Deco Liner “Bright Green”
  • Essence “Flashy Pumpkin”
  • Essence “The Boy Next Door”
  • Essence “Prom Berry”
  • Essence “Little Miss Sunshine”
  • Essence “I’m So Very”
  • Essence “Do You Speak Love”
  • Essence “Fame Fatal”
  • Essence “Redvolution”

All the Essence polishes are from the Colour & Go Range.

I mixed all the colours with white polish (Except for the last 4 polishes, because red and white make pink). Each time I added a little more white to make the colours lighter.

I am so in love with this nail art.

I have seen someone else who has used these dresses as inspiration and done the same thing, I cant recall on which blog but she also did a great job at it.

What do you think?

31DC2014: Day 20-Watermarble

Happy Day 20 😀

Well I am chuffed with myself. Day 20 done and dusted! 11 more to go 😀 YAY

Let me start by saying this… I Suck at Water Marbling! Suck Suck Suck!! I can generally get it right on 1 nail and then it all goes down hill. So if ever I need to do it I use it as a feature and that it. This time I decided to do my whole mani… Lets see what transpired.

Let me just say it was sheer chaos!

The polishes I used:

  • Tip Top “Sunkissed”
  • Tip Top “Army Vibes”
  • Tip Top “Purple Bow Peep”
  • Tip Top “Blue My Whistle”
  • Tip Top “Get The Party Started”
  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”

So I used “Snow Me White” as my base and then while that dried I taped up my fingers to avoid a huge clean up.

I then got room temp water (I had to use the hot tap because the cold water was icy cold) and started dropping in my colours.

Dipped in finger, cleaned water and then on to the next finger… It flopped! Big Time! So its safe to say #nailfail.

I’m not a big fan of all the smoke and mirrors some bloggers put up, we are not perfect and nail art can never be stunning 100% of the time. I like to share my failures because when I first saw nail art I was like WOW I need to try that, then I would and it would be crappy and I never felt good. So here it is for all you out there that suck at Water Marble. Welcome to my club 😀

31DC2014: Day 16-Geometric

Good Day my lovelies,

Originally this prompt was Tribal but its been changed to the politically correct prompt now called “geometric”.

I don’t really know how I ended up with the Mani I got, I know my colour selection was purely because of some 70’s colour combo I saw somewhere and immediately thought “eeeww” who would wear that and then had to try it 😀 #imaweirdo #sometimes lol.

So like I said, this mani kind of just happended.

I used:

  • W Nail Art “Wasabi”
  • Essence Colour & Go “Little Miss Sunshine”
  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”
  • W Nail Art “Bingo Flamingo”

It really does give off a 70’s Vibe.

I personally dont LOVE it! My lines are not what they should be! I need a thinner lining brush.

What do you think?

31DC2014: Day 10-Gradient Nails

Hello Lovelies,

Today is day 10, I cant believe how fast this is going!

I decided I wanted to do something bright and fun.

So I used the following polishes:

  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”
  • China Glaze “Flip Flop Fantasy”
  • Tip Top “Purple Bow Peep”
  • Tip Top “Sunkissed”
  • Tip Top “Get The Party Started”

I used Snow Me White as the base colour and then sponged on the gradient.

I feel like this is so incomplete but Nail Art is getting so crazy and busy I decided to keep it simple and leave it as is.

What do you think?

31DC2014: Day 3-Yellow Nails

Morning Lovelies,

Its day 3 today and that means Yellow nails 😀

I had so many ideas for this but in the end I settled on a soft delicate look.

I stamped today! I used my MoYou London Bridal Collection Plate 07.

The polishes I used are as follows:

  • SinfulColors “Unicorn”
  • Essence Colour & Go “Hello Marshmallow“

Its really plain and simple but oh so pretty.

I was really happy with the way it came out.

What do you think? Yellow is also one of those tough colours. Hard to use as the main focus colour.

Saturday Seeds #6

Happy Saturday Lovelies,

You have no idea how happy I am its weekend!

I have had the busiest week at work, one night I only got home at 19:45pm… Yup but the cool part is I am travelling for work next week Monday, going to a convention. I am pretty excited lol!

So yes that explains my absence from the bloggie. I did have some time this past Monday night to get a quick bit of Nail art done for today. Its such an easy design today!

I found this image on Pinterest so that explains why its so small but anyhoo.

Lets see what colours I used for today’s seed.

I used:

(PS you can now see the swatches of each colour if you click on the links)

Because I had 5 colours I decided to paint each nail a different colour and then I used the Dry Brush technique (See here for a YouTube tutorial by Cute Polish)

20140727_185647Its literally super easy to accomplish, and really only takes about 10 minutes from start to finish.

This is actually my first time doing dry brush nail art and I really loved it!
