{Review} Born Pretty Store Goodies

Good Morning all you lovelies,

I was sent some awesome goodies to test & try from Born Pretty Store and boy were they goodies!

I am part of the affiliate program and I was emailed by my rep who gave me a budget and I got to choose what I wanted to review. I chose 4 items but today I am only going to show you 2 of them.

Review copyI have been brain storming the heck out of these 2 items to see what I could come up with. I am so excited to show you what I did because a massive amount of time and effort went in it.

20141105_214813So I used the following items for my Mani:

The water decal SH02 & the 3D Nail Jewel.

20141105_214837I went for a full on vintage look.

I spent a great deal of time cutting out all the little flowers and putting them on my nails but I also added a full nail to show you what it would look like.

It was really easy to apply the decals, I just submerged them in a bit of water for a minute & then placed them on my nails using a tweezers.

In terms of the 3D jewel I used Seche Vite to attach it to my nail (Although nail glue would make it stick longer). But if you lost a jewel that would be ok because you get 5 if you order them.

I painted a Matte topcoat over everything to seal it off and tah-dah a super easy vintage mani.

What do you think?

31DC2014: Day 31-Recreation of Nail art by: Paulina’s Passions

Hello again 🙂

So here is the final post from the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.

Cannot believe I made it to the end (We will just pretend I am not a few days late hehe)

I was seriously questioning my sanity the last few days.

chalkboard-nails-31-day-challenge-2014-just-peachy

The challenge is tough, it really tests your creativity and skill.

Ok so we were supposed to honor nails we loved. I was inspired by Paulina’s Passions, this was actually the Nail Art she did for day 12 of the challenge.

20141005_170959

I used a few pretties:

  • Essence “A Piece of Forever” from the Twilight Breaking Dawn Trend Edition.
  • Catrice “Gold Leaf” Top Coat
  • TOY Maaji “Maaji’s Ocean”
  • TOY Maaji “Candy Bay”
  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”

I also used Studs that I bought from Maskscara (A nail Supply store in Cape Town) and my striping tape from ebay.

So I really had fun doing this.

Day 31

I really like it 😀 but need to practice painting anchors.

Yipeee its over hehe, will do it all again next year for sure! Great test of skill & creativity.

31DC2014: Day 30-Inspired by “a tutorial”

Good evening lovelies,

So wow this week was crazy,it swallowed me whole.

I have the last 2 posts for the challenge tonight. I did them today.

chalkboard-nails-31-day-challenge-2014-just-peachyI was inspired by a Youtube Tutorial from cutepolish (see here)

I did have exactly the same colours as her so I used the closest ones in my neon collection that I could.

20141005_161331

I used the following polishes:

  • TOY Maaji “Candy Bay”
  • Bourjois “Cerise Noire”
  • OPI “Steady As She Rose”
  • Catrice “For Bright Guys”
  • TOY Maaji “Maaji’s Ocean”

Its just a basic dotticure but I thought the colours looked so pretty together I just had to try it.

31DC2014: Day 25-Inspired by “fashion”

Good Morning my dears,

The second I saw my inspiration image I knew I was going to use it for today’s prompt.

I am no Fashionista, but I can appreciate a stunning design. What is better than a rainbow coloured dress? Not much!

This dress is from Chanel SS14 Collection.

20140924_202753

I used a lot of polishes.

  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”
  • Tip Top “Sherbet Angel”
  • L.A. Colors Art Deco Liner “Bright Green”
  • Essence “Flashy Pumpkin”
  • Essence “The Boy Next Door”
  • Essence “Prom Berry”
  • Essence “Little Miss Sunshine”
  • Essence “I’m So Very”
  • Essence “Do You Speak Love”
  • Essence “Fame Fatal”
  • Essence “Redvolution”

All the Essence polishes are from the Colour & Go Range.

I mixed all the colours with white polish (Except for the last 4 polishes, because red and white make pink). Each time I added a little more white to make the colours lighter.

I am so in love with this nail art.

I have seen someone else who has used these dresses as inspiration and done the same thing, I cant recall on which blog but she also did a great job at it.

31DC2014: Day 24-Inspired by “a book”

Good Morning,

Sorry about the delay with this post. I was most annoyed.

Today is inspired by a Book. I tried to decide on a book to use but couldn’t. I had been playing with the Idea of scrapbook nails a while back but never thought much of it.

chalkboard-nails-31-day-challenge-2014-just-peachy

The concept of scrapbook nails is to take nail stickers and create something different.

20140924_161843I used:

  • Bundle Monster Nail Effects Tribal.

There was absolutely no polish used to make this mani.

The base of my nail art was a really old no name brand (I threw the cover away years ago) nail sticker in a holo silver.

20140924_161757

Overall I thought it looked pretty but I think the idea needs some refining.

What do you think? Great way to use nail stickers?

31DC2014: Day 23-Inspired by “a movie”

Hello everybody 😀

Its day 23 and I am starting to lose my steam. I find these last few prompts hella-hard! I only finished this Mani late last night.

Luckily tomorrow is Heritage Day in South Africa so we get to have a mid week break 😀 Yay!

chalkboard-nails-31-day-challenge-2014-just-peachy

So as you can see there isn’t much further to go. Yipee! After today’s post there are 8 more to go, I think tomorrow’s prompt is going to be hard but then the rest all look fairly easy.

Anyone have book suggestions? I can see “The Fault in our Stars” being a crowd fav so will avoid that one.

Some of my favourite books are: The beautiful Creatures Saga, The Hunger Games Trilogy, Every Harry Potter Book, Anything Katie Fforde writes and every Nicholas Sparks Novel.

Ok so today’s prompt is Movie… This really was tough because I love movies, I don’t just watch them, I disappear into them. I can watch a movie 100 times and not get sick of it (only good movies of course, the bad ones don’t get watched again).

I first settled on P.S. I Love You for today but it didn’t come out good at all so I brainstormed and decided to go with “Babe: Pig in the City”.

Let me just warn you, I was not my most creative.

20140922_210535So the polishes I used are as follows:

  • W Nail Art Pen “Bingo Flamingo”
  • SinfulColors “Snow Me White”
  • Essence Colour & Go “Modern Romance”
  • Models Own Nail Art Pen in Sliver
  • Cina Black Nail Art Pen

20140922_210452So there it is. Babe in the City.

What movie did you do? Or would have done?

31DC2014: Day 21-Inspired by “a colour”

Happy 21st of September, aka Day 21!

chalkboard-nails-31-day-challenge-2014-just-peachy

I have been staring at this option for a while, its rather difficult! But then I was looking through my nail art and remembered how much I loved a mani I did for a review a little while back. I was inspired by the colour combo. I am in love with Rose Gold at the moment! Its one of my favourite metallic colours so I decided to use it as my Colour for today’s  prompt.

20140825_213233

I used:

  • Tip Top “Melting Marshmallow”
  • Revlon ColorStay “Fall Mood”

I then went on to stamp using my MoYou London Bridal Collection Plate.

20140825_213721

I thought it came out very pretty but not as striking as my previous mani using these colours (see here).

What do you think?
